Jean du Toit

Jean, originally from Cape Town, South Africa, graduated from the University of Stellenbosch with a Bachelor of Accounting degree in 2010, followed by an Honours Bachelor of Accounting degree in 2011. He qualified as a professional accountant and registered with the South African Institution of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) in 2015, as a Registered Auditor with the International Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA) in 2018. Jean also registered with the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants (CIIPA) in 2022.

Jean started his auditing career in 2012 with Baker Tilly (Cape Town) and moved to Baker Tilly (Cayman) Ltd. in 2021. He has 12 years of audit experience with an in-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). He has experience in the audit of private and public companies in various sectors including offshore hedge funds, private equity funds, other alternative investment structures, renewable energy, property and investment holding, manufacturing, construction, retail, forestry, fishing and farming. Jean is also part of the cryptocurrency audit team of Baker Tilly (Cayman) and has experience in the audit of various cryptocurrency focussed mutual and private funds.

He is an avid sportsman and participates in squash, rugby, tennis and also enjoys traveling and hiking.
